Much later, the University at Notre Dame in Paris saw the creation of a new kind of music called organum. Then there are forks that technically and from the looks remain German-style: the Albert System or simple system that is used in Jazz and the oriental clarinet, both are similar to a German clarinet of around 1870.

Creating half tones - method one: Forked fingering Some wood wind instruments - like the recorder - will produce a pleasant scale in their "native" key with simple fingering, like shown above. All instruments are kept in a humidified / climate controlled room. Acoustically, this makes the tone hole function as if it were larger, but its main function is to allow the air column to follow the curve up through the tone hole (surface tension) instead of "blowing past" it under the increasingly directional frequencies of the upper registers. [18] Recorders use a tapered internal bore to overblow at the 8th (octave) when its thumb/register hole is pinched open while the clarinet, with its cylindrical bore, overblows on the 12th.

Leblanc �Noblet model 40� wood clarinet, made in France. It should be noted that wooden clarinets definitely require extra care to ensure a long life. Top joint in has seven round nickel-silver keys, is 249 mm. long, end of top tenon to end of bottom tenon. They are considered one of the better sections because of their ability to march, dance, and spin rifles, flags, and sabres, all while remembering their spots and routines.
