Only hear noise coming out of rock arenas and dance clubs? Music in the parlor was of a very different sort than in the concert hall. Honored by jazz greats in Carnegie Hall in July 1972. In the first part of the twentieth century, increasing research into historical music made older music available, and composers and conductors updated them to fit the modern performance needs of orchestral concerts. There was very little English pop music from East Germany. The lovely photography is by Rik Keller and as with the previous release Skylark: Crossing Over ( reviewed here ) the graphic design by Caleb Nei deserves special mention for its ability to truly complement this disc.
